Meet Kate

Hello, I’m Kate, and I adore baking. If you’ve found your way to my website, you’ll have seen some of the delightful cakes I’ve had the joy of creating. Let me share a bit about myself…


I’ve always had a passion for whipping up sweet treats, dating back to my childhood. I’d often disappear into the kitchen on Sunday afternoons, concocting little delights in ramekin pots for my parents to enjoy while watching TV.


As I raised my own family, I kept the baking tradition alive, involving my children in my culinary adventures. Whether it was a fete, PTA event, birthday bash, or picnic, I found any excuse to get creative in the kitchen.

About My Cakes

Here at Kate’s Kakes, I specialise in bespoke bakes, celebration cakes, tray bakes, cookies, and cupcakes. I create delicious delights using local, high-quality ingredients —it’s all about the taste.


I also pay close attention to the design, working closely with you. As you’ve seen, I use only edible flowers that are safe for cakes and consumption. All flowers are locally grown at a flower farm just a few miles away.


I love using fresh, pressed, crystallised, and dried edible flowers on my cakes, but if flowers aren’t your thing, don’t worry; there are plenty of other styles to choose from. Such as drip cakes loaded with brownies, blondies, macarons, fudge, or cake pop truffles. Or how about a raspberry ripple cake with fresh raspberries for those that prefer a fruity taste?

Now you know a little about me and my cakes, all there is left to do is order your bake!

Step 1

Be inspired by my gallery

I advise my customers to take a look at my gallery before contacting me to get an idea of the sort of thing I do and how that will fit in with what you’re looking for. Whether that’s a particular design style you like or even individual elements you’d like incorporated. Think of things such as cake size, drip cakes, edible flowers and specific edible toppings such as brownies or fruit.

Step 2

Think about flavours and style

As you’ll know by now, I think the flavour is the most important thing and there are so many to choose from! You could go down the fruit route, flavours such as raspberry ripple or lemon are big customer favourites! Other flavours you could explore include chocolate, salted caramel, carrot, biscoff or anything else you can think of. The possibilities really are endless.

Fill in the contact form!

Now you understand a little more about what sort of bake you’d like, all that’s left to do is get in touch! The easiest way to do this is through the contact form at the bottom of this page. I ask you to be as thorough as you can when filling it out to give me as much information as possible so I can come back with a well-informed quote. I look forward to baking for your next celebration!

Important Order Information

Once we’ve settled on your unique bake, I can get to work. Upon collection, you’ll receive a full list of ingredients, allergens, and storage tips. I accept orders up to three months in advance. I ask for payment via cash on collection or bank transfer three days before collection. No deposit will be necessary. As I work alone, please book dates in advance to avoid disappointment. We can finalise details like design and flavour closer to the time.
